Communication is an everyday skill and there is true value in learning how to Listen (actively), Engage (meaningfully) and Respond (purposefully) both personally and professionally.
As Mediation requires a broad communication skill set, Meera is often asked to put together workshops for organisations keen to invest in empowering their staff with dispute resolution / Mediation skills. All her workshops are practical, challenging and interactive, designed specifically for the needs of the organisation and attendees. She provides take away tips for building resilience in conflict situations and helps delegates identify and prepare for difficult conversations in the workplace and with external stakeholders.
Read more about one of her recent workshops below, where she was asked to put together a bespoke workshop for NHS Resolution, the organisation responsible for handling negligence claims on behalf of their indemnity scheme members, ie NHS organisations, independent sector providers of NHS care in England and beneficiaries of state-backed indemnity for general practice (the latter from April 2019).
Meera was delighted to deliver an interactive Masterclass to a brilliant room of delegates on how to best deliver Personalised and Sympathetic Communication in the context of Claims Management.
Prior to delivering the Masterclass, Meera discussed the NHS Resolution's key objectives and put together a detailed proposition for a session packed full of knowledge, tips and tools to equip the Claims teams to think differently about how they communicate internally, with patients and with external contacts.
The Masterclass itself, drew on Mediation skills and techniques to help delegates identify and maximise their ability to control conflict situations both sensitively and with confidence.
The Masterclass also included practical exercises and games giving delegates an opportunity to learn, self-challenge and practice how small changes in their communication style could positively influence their objectives.
